It’s about YOU, your MESSAGE and being REAL

Branding. The word conjures up all sorts of images. Logos, websites, catchy phrases and names. But with all the competition in this gigantic virtual shopping mall called The Internet, how do we stand out from the masses? The key is with PERSONAL BRANDING.  It’s what makes you different from the masses. And the good news is, you already are different just by your DNA. From there, you must get people to know you when you can’t be there in person.

One of the best ways, is to create videos for your website or blog. There’s something about seeing a face as we hear a message that can reach out and grab the viewer (who could be a new client or a new loyal audience member). And if you create new video content on a regular basis, you increase  your chances of expanding your audience and bringing viewers back. It’s all about “eyeballs to the site.” The bigger your audience, the more the opportunities.

As internet sensation and personal brand expert,  Gary Vaynerchuk (author of Crush It! and host of Wine Library TV) says, “Your business and personal brand need to be one in the same. Developing your personal brand is key to monetizing your passion online.” And in order to develop your personal brand you have to be authentic. It’s not about slick infomercial style videos (although they have their place). It’s about letting the viewer know the REAL you as you get your message out. Vaynerchuk goes on to say, “Consumers want you to tell them the truth.” In these YouTube centric times, we’re inundated with videos. A lot them are junk, but Gary says, “Cream always rises no matter how many cups of coffee you pour.”

If we focus on being ourselves as we share our passion, people will tune in, and hopefully turn on to what we have to say (and sell).
